So anyway, once you get your friends together you can have jolly good fun until the game dies. This has always happened in every game I have been in - perhaps it is because I am using a PS3 controller, which then means that 'Full Controller Support' is misleading at best, a lie at worst. Eventually, you'll just switch to keyboard anyway when your controller keels over and stops responding. After you plug in your controller, that is - you can play without it, but the keyboard controls are just terrible and should be burned. Now that you are in the game, you can begin playing. I don't know who thought this was a good idea and I likewise do not know if it can be disabled, but this is another UI sin that needs exorcised. ![]() But once you start a lobby, you have five minutes to get everyone in before the game starts. There are no dedicated servers and since it is on uPlay you cannot join through Steam, meaning you have to add people and invite them on uPlay. Next, you maybe want to join your friend's game. I have not become fluent in another language in less than a day. I get that this was probably for accessibility, but just put it in the settings. ![]() You will become very accustomed to doing this, because you will have to do it every single time you open the game. You launch the game and select what language you want. Or a Ubisoft employee, which fulfills the preceding criteria. But on a technical level, it was either developed by a tortured developer, a developer who hates development or a developer imprisoned in the depths of hell. This feeling is nothing against the concept - it is Monopoly and it is good fun with friends. For the low, low price of £12.49 and a few hours of your time, you too can experience the strong urge to gouge your brain out with a blunt pencil. Monopoly Plus takes that feeling to a whole new level - reality. Have you ever played Monopoly and felt buyer's remorse? Perhaps you bought the browns and nobody landed on them, or you built a hotel on Mayfair only to go bankrupt the next turn. ![]()
